Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments.
Hi, I am a three, nearly four-year-old little boy with Autism and Pica behaviours. I like to jump, bounce, climb, swim and run around. I really love the water, so swimming is one of my favourites. I love Buzz trampoline park, soft play and gymnastics. I need a kind, patient, and fast on their feet PA to take me out to have fun where I can be safe. I also love to go on drives where I can look out at the people and places and daydream. I like the beach and the sea. I have no awareness of danger, so you need to always hold my hand unless we are in a safe secure area.
Female or Male. Ratio of 1-1.
Driver required to take me out.
Hours of work
4 hours x 39 weeks in term time, schedule to be agreed with parents plus 15 miles,
8 hours x 13 weeks in school holidays, schedule to be agreed with parents plus 20 miles.
Rate of pay
£16.92 per hour before tax and NI.
£0.39p per mile.
Essential:
You must be fast, and able to keep up with me, because I am oblivious to danger, and quite impulsive. You must be patient and kind. You must be experienced in working with young people who have Autism and Pica.
Desirable:
I’d prefer if you are trained in first aid.
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
Concerning the position
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
