Summary
P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to join their team based in Norwich on a full-time, permanent basis.
Main Responsibilities:
• To produce and deliver marketing & communications plans with defined and measurable objectives, undertaking regular reviews of all communications activities, reporting on results and giving recommendations.
• To maintain a monthly schedule of content for social media which grows the charity’s reach and reputation, whilst maintaining a safe online environment.
• To engage with agreed digital platforms including Google and LinkedIn with clear key performance indicators (KPIs.)
• To develop an active asset base and compile regular email newsletters and correspondence to promote the charity’s activities.
• To work with the CEO to support and suggest events to further the aims and objectives of the charity.
• To innovatively develop events and campaigns which can maximise grants and donations.
• To lead on digital accessibility across all communication channels, undertaking regular training where necessary to keep up to date with best practices.
• To work collaboratively with delivery teams to ensure voice of women and girls is centred in all communications.
• To monitor the external landscape, including press and social media, to inform all marketing and communications decisions, as well as identifying potential reputational risks which should be escalated to the CEO.
• To oversee the stock levels of publicity materials, and order new stock when requested.
• To create simple designs such as social media graphics, following templates and adhering strictly to brand guidelines.
• To update the charity’s website when needed, ensuring all content follows accessibility and search engine optimisation (SEO) best practices.
• To oversee the work of freelance and volunteer photographers, maintaining an up-to-date photo bank and ensuring appropriate permissions are recorded for all photography, particularly of women and girls.
Qualifications and Experience
• A degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
• Previous experience in marketing, communications, or a related role is preferred.
Person Specification:
• Experience in marketing & communications
• Proven ability to plan, deliver and evaluate marketing and communications strategies.
• Experience creating content for digital platforms (e.g. websites, social media, newsletters).
• Experience managing social media platforms including scheduling, engagement, and analysis of performance.
• Familiarity with SEO, digital accessibility, and current best practices in web and social media content.
• Experience supporting or co-ordinating events and campaigns
• Understanding or interest in working in sensitive or values-based sectors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to produce high-quality written materials tailored to a range of audiences.
• Strong digital skills including the use of e-mail marketing platforms, content management systems (e.g. WordPress), and basic graphic design tools (e.g. Canva or Adobe Express).
• Ability to work independently, organise workload, and manage competing priorities.
• Creative and innovative approach to engaging audiences, building visibility, and strengthening a brand.
Working Hours: 22.5 per week
Annual leave: 27 days, plus Bank Holidays
