Crynodeb
To support the client’s environmental and waste management objectives by sorting mixed recyclables into high-quality single material streams in line with regulations. The role contributes directly to increasing recycling rates and generating income from recycled materials, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-standard operation of the MRF
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety: Follow strict protocols to sort specified materials from conveyor belts, ensuring compliance with Environment Agency requirements.
Personal Protection: Wear and maintain corporate uniform and PPE, ensuring a safe working environment for self and colleagues.
Site Maintenance: Assist in cleaning machinery, wheeled bins, depot, and surrounding outdoor areas as directed.
Teamwork: Display a 'can do' attitude and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Contaminant Removal: Hand-remove contaminants from material piles in the tipping hall when required.
Manual Handling: Undertake heavy lifting using appropriate manual handling techniques.
Training: Willingly undergo specialist training and skill development as needed.
Work Schedule: Work Mondays to Fridays with occasional Saturday catch-ups after bank holidays.
Quality Control: Assist in sampling materials to monitor quality and contamination levels.
Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Person Specification
Basic literacy and numeracy to read signs, follow instructions, complete forms, and record work done.
Level 2 or above WAMITAB in Waste Ops (Desirable).
Valid driving license (Desirable).
Current Telehandler certificate (Desirable).
Experience working in a factory or similar environment.
Ability to perform manual labour for extended periods.
Weighbridge experience (Desirable).
Experience in Waste Management Operations (Desirable).
Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team.
Good timekeeping, hand-eye coordination, and ability to use initiative.
Good hearing and eyesight for safe work around moving vehicles and machinery.
