JOB TITLE: RESIDENTIAL CONVEYANCER – Hybrid after qualifying period
SALARY: upto £60,000 – depending on experience
LOCATION: Bedford or Milton Keynes
HOURS OF WORK: 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday
BENEFITS: 26 + stats + excellent additional bens
The Residential Conveyancer Role:
Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner, who will independently manage their own portfolio of cases, delivering exceptional client service. You will have the opportunity to gain experience across a diverse range of cases, due to our market position. Your portfolio may include freehold and leasehold transactions, including Sales, Purchases, Re-Mortgages, New Build, Transfers of Equity, Buy to Let, Flats, unregistered and shared ownership properties.
You will also lead, coach and develop junior colleagues with your extensive knowledge will allow you to become highly effective in their fast-paced environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities for the Residential Conveyancer role:
• Reporting to the Head of Department
• Manage a portfolio of cases from initiation to completion
• Carry out an investigation of title checks
• Independently establish priorities and manage deadlines
• Provide training, supervision, and coaching junior members of staff
• Provide an exceptional service both to the client and to introducers and associates
• Build strong relationships with clients and third parties, communicating effectively and delighting them through your delivery
• Deal with complex legal enquiries
• Understand and produce accurate financial statements
• Optimise the client experience through exceptional client care
• Manage the exchange of contracts and completion of transactions
• Streamline processes to enhance efficiency
• Taking part in networking opportunities to strengthen business relationships and enhance the firm’s visibility.
• At all times, comply with all relevant legislation and regulations as directed by the firm (e.g. client confidentiality, anti-money laundering, Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and The Law Society rules, Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, Data Protection Act, etc.)
• Work as part of a team when work is requested by any other fee earner
• Ensuring departmental systems and firm-wide procedures are followed.
Person Specification required for the Residential Conveyancer role
• A natural self-starter with the ability to be flexible and empathetic to meet client needs
• Experience in residential Conveyancing
• Supervisory experience
• Ability to prioritise and adapt to meet client and business needs
• Calm under pressure
• Excellent verbal and numerical skills
• Flexible and able to independently judge potential situations, identify and take alternative courses of action without putting the client or business at risk
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Time Management
• A desire for continuous personal and professional development
• Ability to work in a planned and organised way, but has the ability to multitask
• Methodical, accurate and consistent even when under workload and/or time pressures
