Summary

We are recruiting for an Intensive Support Worker here at South Holland District Council. The role is fixed term until March 2026.

We’re looking for a resilient, compassionate, and proactive Intensive Support Worker to join our frontline team. This is a hands-on, face-to-face role where you’ll work independently to support individuals living in temporary accommodation helping them develop the skills and confidence to move on to independent living.



What You’ll Do:

Provide 1:1 support to individuals in hostels and supported flats, helping them build life skills and prepare for independent living.
Lone work confidently and safely, managing your own caseload and schedule.
Carry out referrals, assessments, and support plans tailored to each person’s needs.
Deliver key work sessions that are strengths-based, person-centred, and solution-focused.
Work closely with the Housing Options and Allocations Team, as well as external partners and services.
Signpost and advocate for clients, connecting them with the right support networks.
Maintain accurate records, produce reports, and contribute to service development.


What We’re Looking For:

Experience in intensive support work whether in the public, private, or voluntary sector.
A passion for making a real difference in people’s lives.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and motivate individuals with complex needs.
Confidence to work independently, manage a varied caseload, and make informed decisions.
Knowledge of housing legislation and homelessness pathways is a plus.
