Exciting opportunity to join a Leading £1bn+ Tier 1 Main Contractor in their London division, focusing on the Commercial & Healthcare sectors.
About the role of Senior Estimator
This is a rare opportunity with a £1bn+ Tier 1 Main Contractor, currently looking for a Senior Estimator to join their London division.
We are a privately owned business, with some of the strongest financials in the industry, being around for 20+ years. As a business, we operate across the Commercial, Cut & Carve, New Build, Data Centres, Education, Health & Residential sectors, but within the London division we specifically work across the Commercial & Healthcare sectors so we are looking for someone with Commercial AND/OR Healthcare experience in particular.
As Senior Estimator, you will be working on projects typically valued between £40m - £200m, mainly two stage tenders and cost plans, using Conquest software. You will be working alongside 5 Estimators within the London division, and about 12 Estimators altogether across each division within the business in a really nice, friendly atmosphere.

Responsibilities for Senior Estimator
- Develop & submit initial cost plans or estimates based on early stage designs
- Collaborate with design consultants, clients and subcontractors to refine scope & budget
- Break down & validate cost components
- Manage procurement of subcontractor packages, sending out enquiries, analysing returns, and negotiating terms
- Prepare detailed cost plans from concept through to detailed design stages
- Work closely with the pre-construction and planning teams to ensure alignment of cost, programme, and methodology
- Represent the contractor in client meetings and presentations during bid processes
- Build strong relationships with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Mentor Junior Estimators & support their development
- Coordinate input from planners, bid writers, MEP Estimators and temporary works team

Requirements for Senior Estimator
- 7+ years of Estimating experience
- Commercial experience / Healthcare also beneficial but not necessary
- Experience working on two stage tenders & cost plans
- Longevity at previous employment
- Previously worked for a tier 1 main contractor or a reputable tier 2
- Happy to travel into London 5 days a week (WFH available on ADHOC basis)
