Summary
1. To provide and maintain an efficient and safe environment for clients and staff, reporting any potential safety issues to an appropriate team member and making suggestions for service improvement, according to Trust and service policies and procedures
2. To maintain high standards of infection control procedures according to Trust and service policies
3. To maintain client confidentiality at all times according to Trust and service policies
4. To act as a chaperone taking into account cultural and religious beliefs, as directed
by clinical staff, whilst promoting a positive image of the service
5. Prioritise own workload and organise own work on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the service
6. Identify, report (and contribute to recording) to appropriate team member any Child Protection and Vulnerable adult issues observed during duties, according to legislation & Trust policy
7. Prepare equipment and clinical environment, and assist at clinical procedures as appropriate
8. To report sickness, absence and any accident/incident to the clinical manager or her/his deputy
9. To work within the community clinical settings
According to service policy,
1,Undertake pregnancy testing & venepuncture and any other procedure, which falls within your knowledge and competencies under the guidance and supervision of clinical staff.
2. Manage fast-track clinics using electronic patient records ensuring all episodes are
entered and coded safely and efficiently.
3. Ensure all samples/specimens are recorded & transported in a timely and appropriate manner, according to service policy. Report any discrepancies to an appropriate team member
4. To maintain stock (clinical supplies) levels, identifying and reporting any
discrepancies or cost savings to service manager.
5. Ensure a clean & tidy environment within the clinical area and maintain
housekeeping throughout.
6 Support clinical delivery alongside dedicated sexual health clinical practitioners.
7. Provide sexual health advice which supports the care, emotional well-being and education of patients
