Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is a 13-year-old girl living in the Kidderminster area of Worcestershire with her family who is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support for 3 hours per week with accessing the local community and taking part in activities.
Our client has Down Syndrome, hearing loss and hyper mobility.
Main duties:
Social duties:
keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
access the local community
support with activities such as swimming, bowling, cinema
Personal care: support with personal care.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values: Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel and understands equality and diversity.
Specific requirements: Someone with basic sign language skills. Someone with First Aid training. Someone that is willing to participate in activities with client. Someone with experience of working with children with Down Syndrome and hearing loss.
Hours of work: 3 hours per week or 6 hours every 2 weeks – Saturday or Sunday required
Rate of pay: £12.21 per hour
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
Driving licence
Car and appropriate insurance
Experience of working with children with Down Syndrome & hearing loss
Basic sign language skills
First Aid trained
Able to swim
Good communication skills
Good at building relationships
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
