Sustainability Advisor

Contract term: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

Location: Hybrid Working – 2 days per week from home, 3 days per week at ACT Head Office, Ocean Park House, Cardiff (or other sites)

Salary: Grade 7 £34,334 rising to £36,971 per annum pro rata (inclusive of £3000 p/a market uplift)

A full driving licence is essential as travel between centres will be required.

The role is fits within the Facilities Team reporting to the Facilities Manager.

ACT is committed to promoting the Welsh language for both staff and learners, and whilst it is not considered essential criteria, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role.

What you are responsible for:

· Managing and monitoring our environmental management system.

· Leading on ISO14001 accreditation.

· Monitoring ACT’s energy, waste and transport statistics to ensure improvement.

· Working with our curriculum team to develop environmental and sustainability related lesson plans for all learners.

· Reviewing, updating and communicating environmental and sustainability policies and procedures.

· Reporting regularly to ACT’s senior leadership team on environmental/sustainability progress, initiatives and trends.

· Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.

· Carrying out environmental based internal audits.

· Promoting and encouraging sustainability within all areas of ACT/ALS and partners.
