We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of BIM & Drawing Management to join our technical leadership team.
Reporting directly to the Technical Services Director, this newly defined role will lead the operational shaping and strategic delivery of BIM and drawing management across the ISS & DWP partnership.
The successful candidate will act as both a subject matter expert and a practical implementer—someone who can bridge the gap between contractual obligation and operational excellence.
Job Description
As Head of BIM & Drawing Managemen, you will play a central role in developing our BIM and drawing framework in alignment with BS8536, ISO19650, ISO27001, and ISO19650-5, ensuring that our processes not only meet compliance standards but deliver tangible, commercial value.
This role is about more than governance—it’s about defining how BIM is actually delivered on the ground, determining the people, tools, and methods required to support a smooth transition from project delivery to asset and data management.
You’ll be instrumental in designing and embedding practical solutions that support a best-in-class operation, particularly as we look to retrofit BIM into older, legacy buildings across a large and varied estate.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role working closely with both the client and internal teams to shape and deliver a practical BIM strategy that drives smarter, more efficient service delivery. You’ll lead the development of processes, structure, and governance, ensuring quality and compliance while aligning BIM outputs with broader commercial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain adherence to ISS and industry compliance in all areas within the designated responsibilities.
Lead on the delivery and ongoing development of our BIM & Drawings contractual requirements incorporating all workstreams.
Act as the Technical Services Directors guide and advisor for all BIM & Drawings matters.
Protect ISS from technical risk including any revenue leakage or margin impact.
Drive BIM excellence, implementing governance & assurance processes.
Monitor compliance with Account BIM & Drawings procedures and protocols in line with industry standards.
Conduct quality assurance audits and checks on contract deliverables.
Reassure and engage with our client developing in partnership.
Make significant contributions to the long-term strategy of the service delivery model.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Experience developing and implementing Digital drawing and BIM standards, processes and operational guidelines.
In-depth understanding and practical experience with:
ISO 19650-1, 19650-2, 19650-3, 19650-5
BS 1192-4:2014
Other skills:
Proficient in industry-standard formats such as IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) and their application in BIM workflows.
Strong strategic capability with proven experience in initiating, developing, and implementing BIM and drawing management processes.
In-depth understanding of BIM, data and information management principles, particularly within the UK regulatory and standards framework (including BS EN ISO 19650 series, PAS 1192 legacy documents, and FM-specific requirements).
Familiar with BIM and data standards specifically as they apply to engineering and M&E within facilities management.
Skilled at building and maintaining professional relationships; a confident and effective communicator with a broad internal and external network.
Demonstrates strategic awareness and a wide business perspective when designing governance structures and compliance processes.
Capable of resolving complex and competing stakeholder interests, finding mutually beneficial solutions where possible.
