Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join Thames Water as a Senior Process Specialist!

As part of your role, you will provide expert technical support and guidance to operational sciences and field teams to comply with business, statutory and regulatory objectives.

You will ensure the risks at all our assets and associated actions are communicated to the business, and any actions are progressed to the appropriate teams to prevent operational or statutory exceedances.

As part of the role, you will carry technical expertise and end-to-end treatment reviews on our operational sites to drive improvement and efficiency savings.

- Base Location: Esher (STW) - KT10 8AU
- Work Pattern: Hybrid - 36 Hours per Week (Mon-Fri)

What you will be doing as a Senior Process Specialist

- Provide technical support to Production and Capital Delivery Schemes to ensure that water quality requirements are met, conducting internal water treatment works process audits.
- You will be expected to undertake several proactive and reactive activities to ensure that water quality is maintained, and incidents are responded to, resolved and plans put in place to prevent any future problems in a timely and effective manner.
- You will also ensure the risks at all our assets and associated actions are communicated to the business, and any actions are progressed to the appropriate teams to prevent operational or statutory exceedances.
- As part of the role, you will carry technical expertise and end-to-end treatment reviews on our operational sites to drive improvement and efficiency savings.
- Carry out end-to-end treatment reviews on our Waste Water Treatment Works.
- Represent the company in meetings with stakeholders to build awareness internally & externally and maintain the reputation of the TW brand.
- Provide recommendations to both internal and external departments on how incidents can be prevented in the future.
- Work in a matrixed approach using technical skills to deliver the required programme.
- Participation in an out-of-hours technical support role is also required.
- Provide coaching, support and guidance to different teams.

What should you bring to the role?

- HNC or degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific or Engineering discipline.
- Significant experience in wastewater treatment processes is essential.
- Experience working with Sample Manager, EQUIS and SAP systems.
- Previous operational experience would be an advantage, although this is not essential.
- Being a registered or chartered scientist would be an advantage, although this is not essential.
- Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are also key to this role as you will be liaising with internal stakeholders within Thames Water on a day-to-day basis.
- Travel to other sites is required as a major part of this role; a driving license is essential.
- The ability to work logically and analytically and to maintain a positive and professional approach when dealing with customers is also essential.

- Offering a salary from £46,500 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Annual Leave - 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)

- Performance Related Pay Plan (PRPP): Max (of salary) = 10%. On Target (of salary) = 5%.
