Summary

Join our Supported Accommodation team as a Support Coordinator and help create a safe, supportive space for young people aged 16 – 21 in our Supported Housing facility situated near Sunderland city centre.
Gentoo's Supported Accommodation Team make a real difference in their rewarding roles, they deliver a sensitive service, responding to the needs of the individual, and are key in supporting young people to live well and move on to independent living.
In the role of Support Coordinator, you will promote well- being, safety and personal development in a 24-hour temporary supported accommodation service, guiding the young people towards independent living. You will inspire personal growth by encouraging and leading activities that help develop essential life skills. You will need to stay calm under pressure, think quickly, and provide reassurance to young people who may be facing difficult circumstances. Your ability and confidence to assess situations, respond effectively, and communicate with clarity will help create a safe and supportive environment.
Beyond practical support, you will empower young people to take charge of their futures, guiding them to uphold their housing agreements and transition towards independent living. Working closely with a dedicated team, you’ll ensure continuous support and help to build trust and stability. This is more than a job, it is a chance to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives.
