Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CSW - Senior Social Worker/Specialist Social Worker for our Referral & Assessment team. This pivotal position plays a critical role in safeguarding the welfare of children and families by conducting thorough assessments and ensuring that appropriate interventions are implemented. You will be at the forefront of evaluating complex situations, making informed decisions, and collaborating with various stakeholders to provide the best outcomes for those in need. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of child protection legislation, safeguarding practices, and social work frameworks, as well as demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to build rapport with vulnerable populations. This role requires a proactive approach, strong analytical abilities, and a deep commitment to advocating for children and families. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families at risk.
Develop and implement effective intervention plans tailored to individual cases.
Liaise with external agencies including schools, healthcare professionals, and law enforcement to coordinate support.
Provide guidance and supervision to junior social workers and other team members.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with organizational policies.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss case progress and share insights.
Stay current with legislation, regulations, and best practices in social work.
Requirements
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
Registered with the appropriate social work regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England).
Extensive post-qualification experience in social work, specifically in referral and assessment.
In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess complex risk factors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with families and professionals alike.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
