Summary
1. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CO-ORDINATION OF THE LEVEL 2 PROJECT 1.1 Coordination of the day to day implementation and evaluation of the level 2 psychological skills for oncology and palliative care teams training offers across the trust sites (NICE Supportive and Palliative Care Guidelines (2004) 1.2 Communicate with oncology nursing and medical teams about training needs 1.3 Develop and maintain record systems, booking and communication processes for the different training offers, including training days, psychology teaching sessions and supervision groups 1.4 Ensure that the correct administrative procedures and guidelines are followed 1.5 Communicate effectively with health care professionals and participants 1.6 Assist in the design of the evaluation of the staff support offers, including outcome measures, and feedback questionnaires 1.7 Undertake implementation of the evaluation, including administering measures and gathering feedback, that may include questionnaires, verbal feedback or focus groups 1.8 Contribute to reporting on the evaluation and the project delivery 1.9 Assist in the design and development of models of cross-alliance collaboration on level 2 delivery 1.10 Assist in the evaluation of the agreed model of collaboration, and subsequent reporting 1.11 Assist in the design and implementation of other service audit and research projects 1.12 Undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes 1.13 Undertake searches of evidence-based literature and research to assist qualified clinical psychologists in evidence-based practice in psychological work and work with other team members 1.14 Be aware of, and always comply with, the operational and professional guidelines, policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the team and RFL NHS Trust. 1.15 Attend and actively participate in meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed 1.16 Contribute to and actively participate in teaching, training and reflective practice events within the multidisciplinary team 1.17 Raise in supervision any aspects of the service where you consider that psychological and/or organisational matters need addressing 2. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Under the guidance and supervision from a qualified practitioner psychologist: 2.2 To assist in the provision of a clinical psychology service within the Department of Oncology Psychology as required. This post will be line managed by a qualified Clinical Psychologist. 2.3 To work independently on a day-to-day basis according to a plan agreed with the supervising Clinical Psychologist. 2.7 To receive regular supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines. 2.8 To participating, support and organize and deliver appropriate training events in collaboration with the MDT. 3. RESPONSIBILITY FOR POLICY AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT 3.1 To be aware of, and always comply with, the operational and professional guidelines, policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the team, oncology management service and RFL NHS Trust. 3.2 To attend and actively participate in meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed. 3.3 To carry out administrative tasks such as audit and recording of other data that contribute to service performance monitoring and development. 3.4 To contribute to and actively participate in teaching, training and reflective practice events within the multidisciplinary team. 3.5 To raise in supervision any aspects of the service where you consider that psychological and/or organisational matters need addressing. 4. RESPONSIBILITY FOR FINANCIAL AND PHYSICAL RESOURCES 4.1 To ensure safekeeping of the service IT equipment, test materials and clinic room furniture. 4.2 To raise with the Clinical Psychologist where additional resources or replenishment are required to fulfil clinical responsibilities. 5. RESPONSIBILITY FOR INFORMATION RESOURCES 5.1 To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society, the Health and Care Professions Council, and Trust policies and procedures. 6. RESPONSIBILITY FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT 6.1 To assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects. 6.2 To undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes. 6.3 To undertake searches of evidence-based literature and research to assist qualified clinical psychologists in evidence-based practice in individual work and work with other team members.
