Core Responsibilities –
• Act as one of the sites Senior Authorised Persons, carrying out Mechanical isolations on equipment, producing, and checking Mechanical Permits.
• Supporting the effective reliability, availability, operation and maintenance of the active operational infrastructure and associated mechanical systems across the TBAG assets.
• Providing expert specialist and technical engineering advice to the Engineering Manager and deputising both internally and externally.
• Guidance on the implementation of TBAG Investment and asset management strategy in the short, medium, and long term.
• Proactive leadership to facilitate delivery of specific programmes including delivery of TBAG capital programme, TBAG maintenance programme, TBAG training/development programme and the execution of the TBAG gate trial and testing programme.
• Assisting the development of all TBAG Engineering strategies and policies.
• Undertaking a Thames Barrier Incident Role.
• Explore new areas of technology.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team
Joining our friendly and essential London MEICA team you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and manage an experienced team to carry out operations and planned / reactive maintenance on Mechanical Systems ensuring the reliability of equipment and machinery and equipment across Thames Tidal Defences assets.
Experience/skills required
Qualification/Experience Requirements –
• Experienced with mechanical systems.
• Experienced with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experienced in regulations and specifications for LOLER and PSSR.
• Knowledge of managing maintenance contracts and projects.
• Excellent knowledge of Mechanical and Safety Standards and Regulations.
