Are you passionate about inclusive education and ready to make a real difference for students with autism? We are expanding our Additional Learning Support services as part of a trust-wide commitment to increase our inclusive offer for students. As a Specialist Practitioner (Autism), you will be a key member of a new specialist team dedicated to supporting learners with specific learning differences (especially those on the autism spectrum) either at St Vincent College (Gosport) or Richard Taunton Sixth Form College (Southampton). This newly created role offers you the chance to directly impact students’ success and help shape a more inclusive future at our colleges.
About the Role
In this hands-on specialist position, you will provide tailored support and mentoring to learners on the autism spectrum, helping them develop the skills, strategies, and confidence to fulfil their academic potential in a welcoming college environment. Working under the guidance of the Advanced Practitioner, you’ll ensure that students with on the autistic spectrum feel safe, included, and able to learn – reinforcing our trust’s inclusive ethos every day. You will primarily be based at either St Vincent College or Richard Taunton College, with opportunities to work across both campuses as needed, reflecting our one-team approach to inclusion.
Join our inclusive college team as a Specialist Practitioner (Autism) and make a real impact by providing tailored mentoring, support, and practical guidance for students on the autism spectrum. Working within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, you’ll help students develop essential academic and life skills, coordinate with staff and families to ensure holistic support, contribute to smooth transitions, manage dedicated sensory spaces, and support well-being and safeguarding. Be part of our dynamic cross-college team and help shape an innovative, welcoming future for all learners.
