The RoleA respected and high-performing secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a qualified and experienced English Teacher to join their dedicated team full-time from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school known for academic excellence, supportive leadership, and a strong sense of community. You will be part of a thriving English department that fosters a passion for reading, writing, and critical thinking across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential.

Essential Requirements
- Qualified teacher status(QTS) or an equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Prepare engaging schemes of work aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Mark student work in line with school policy and provide constructive feedback.
- Assess and track student progress regularly.
- Promote a love of reading and writing across the curriculum.
- Support the development of literacy across the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan cross-curricular activities.
- Attend departmental and whole-school meetings.
- Lead or support extra-curricular activities, such as debating or creative writing clubs.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities in line with school policy.
