About the Role

Join a high-performing and well-respected secondary setting known for fostering ambition, teamwork, and academic success. In this role, you will be integral to supporting both students and teachers within the Science department. The successful applicant will prepare materials for practical lessons, ensure the safe storage and maintenance of equipment, support learners during lessons, and play an active role in school-wide enrichment initiatives. This full-time position begins in September 2025 and offers an opportunity to contribute to an educational community dedicated to nurturing today's young people and inspiring tomorrow's leaders.

Essential Requirements

  • A Levels or NVQ Level 3 in Laboratory Technical Skills (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in an educational science setting is desirable.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, and GCSE/A Level requirements.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare chemicals and equipment for science practicals.
  • Support students during lessons and interventions.
  • Clean and store equipment safely after use.
  • Ensure compliance with COSHH and H&S legislation.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventories and stock records.
  • Design and prepare learning resources as required.
  • Assist teachers with lesson and coursework preparation.
  • Monitor for damage or hazards in the lab environment.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and ethos.
