Crynodeb
The new posts will help to meet an increased demand for Gastroenterology services across the Trust and allow the continued development of specialist services including intestinal failure, home parenteral nutrition, and Inflammatory bowel disease. Applicants should be eligible for specialist registration in paediatric gastroenterology, should be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at the time of interview. Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital is a centre of excellence for many regional paediatric specialty services including neuromuscular disease, neurology, spinal and neurosurgery, metabolic medicine, oncology, and paediatric high dependency (15 beds) and intensive care (17 beds). Cross-cover arrangements are in place to cover patients during times of leave. It is expected that the post holder will work closely with consultant colleagues to ensure clear handover and continuity of care for all patients and that time off during non-hot weeks will be taken flexibly to ensure the department is fully covered at all times. These posts will attract 10 PAs as detailed in the job plan. The posts will attract nationally agreed study and annual leave entitlements. Cover for annual, sick, maternity and other leave will be shared equally by appropriate consultants within the Trust.
