Job Purpose
The Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) will be responsible for monitoring and supporting assessment practices to ensure they meet internal and external quality standards. This role includes standardising assessment approaches, supporting assessors, contributing to CPD activities, and promoting a high-quality learning environment for all learners.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Sampling
Develop and implement sampling plans to ensure the accuracy and consistency of assessments.
Monitor assessment processes against awarding body standards and internal benchmarks.
Review a representative sample of learner portfolios and provide constructive feedback.
Ensure completion of all qualification components within agreed timelines.
Observations & Assessment Reviews
Conduct quarterly observations of assessors’ teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
Provide clear, actionable feedback and support professional development.
Conduct formal progress reviews with assessors in line with regulatory and funding requirements.
Assessor Support & Training
Support assessors throughout the learner journey.
Identify training needs and contribute to or deliver relevant CPD sessions.
Ensure assessors’ CPD logs are updated and aligned with industry standards.
Learner Progress Monitoring
Confirm and report on learner progress monthly.
Work with assessors to address learner engagement and progression challenges.
Standardisation
Lead or contribute to standardisation meetings and activities.
Ensure consistency and compliance across assessors and assessment decisions.
Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of IQA activities.
Ensure all documentation meets audit and compliance requirements.
Communication & Collaboration
Liaise regularly with assessors, trainers, and the quality team.
Participate in monthly team meetings to report on quality assurance findings and learner progression.
Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience
Essential:
Minimum 10–15 years of combined experience in the relevant industry and tutoring/teaching roles.
Recognised IQA qualification (e.g., TAQA, D34, or equivalent).
Relevant occupational competence in the sector.
Experience in internal quality assurance within an educational or training setting.
Strong understanding of awarding body and regulatory requirements (e.g., ESFA, Ofqual).
Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Desirable:
Experience using e-portfolio platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, OneFile).
Knowledge of funding rules and compliance frameworks.
