Summary

Assistant Sexton
Grade 3, £24,404 up to £25,584 per annum pro rata
37 hours per week, permanent contract

Working as part of the Green Space team you will work alongside the Sexton assisting with burial and bereavement duties within the Ashby Road Cemetery site, carrying out horticultural tasks and following maintenance schedules to ensure high standards are achieved.

Duties include:


Grave digging and other burial works in accordance with Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM) guidelines
Sexton Duties when required covering leave and absences with some seasonal changes to working hours as required by the role
General gardening duties such as maintenance of flower beds, digging, grass cutting, hedge cutting, forking, hoeing, hand weeding bedding, bulbs, and shrubs etc.
Use of horticultural and grass cutting machinery
Hard and soft landscaping work; includes fencing, paving and the application of pesticides
Assist with external cleaning duties – such as litter picking, sweeping, emptying of litter bins, and cleansing of site facilities.
