Summary
We are looking for a reliable, passionate and committed cook to join our small staff team in a busy dementia day care centre. You will be expected to prepare and cook a breakfast and two course lunch each day for up to 16 people. Meals will be varied and nutritious and baking is a requirement. You must be confident in moving around the kitchen and equipped in multi-tasking. You will be solely responsible for cleaning and keeping the kitchen to a high standard and completing all daily check sheets in accordance with food safety regulations.
Setting up workstations and dining area
Preparing ingredients and cooking meals
Baking fresh products such as scones and fruit loafs
Following a menu plan and stock control
High standard of cleaning and organisation
Ensuring food safety procedures are followed and recorded
Working well within a small staff team and lone kitchen working
Working to integrate with the members and knowing their needs
Requirements:
Proven cook experience
Qualifications desirable
Knowledge of cooking and baking techniques and procedures
Ability to clean to a high standard
Adaptable and understanding of members needs
Patient, caring and dedicated
Good communication skills
Will have or be willing to take level 2 food safety course
