We are delighted to launch recruitment for an enthusiastic and professional person to provide administrative support across a range of services provided under the Association of Directors of Public Health Network.
The ADPH YH Network works across all fifteen Local Authorities in the Yorkshire and Humber Region, as well as with key partners, including the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), the School of Public Health, NHS (E), Combined-Authorities in the region, the Local Government Association (LGA) and others. Each region in the country has a local regional ADPH network, all supported through a national umbrella ADPH UK membership organisation.
The aim of the ADPH YH is to improve and support local Public Health programmes in place through sector-led improvement approaches, collaboration at a regional level, working with other regional and national organisations across the Public Health system, provide peer support and guidance across the region and utilise the collective voice of the Directors of Public Health in the region in advocacy and influencing activities to support messaging and influence policy.
The ADPH YH network is made up of a number of different groups and networks as follows:
Main Director level network, including strategic partners
Consultant level network, including strategic partners
Practice Improvement Lead
Workforce Development Group
18 Communities of Improvement, each focused on a different area of Public Health activity
4 Priority Aims Leads and Fellows (with priority ambition groups to be set up shortly)
Other bespoke groups as needed to act on specific work streams, such as externally funded initiatives or responding to specific issues (such as Covid-19 for example)
Successful candidates will provide an administrative support function across much of the ADPH YH network, specifically supporting the ADPH YH Network Manager and a number of the key networks and groups, as well as providing financial administration and wider support to the network.
This role will include liaising and working with colleagues from across the various LAs and partners of the network and supporting a wide variety of regional, sub-regional and local place-based areas of work across the Public Health system in Yorkshire and the Humber.
This role is a 0.5 FTE post, working 2.5 days each week, and would be a good opportunity for someone already working in a similar role looking to gain experience of a different work area (i.e Public Health) and/or working at a regional level as a secondment. Which days of the week these working days include is largely flexible except that many of the activities that the role will be required to support take place on Fridays. Hence, Friday is expected to be one of these working days.
If shortlisted, the most likely interview dates will be on the morning of Monday 18th August and the afternoon of Wednesday 20th August.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Marc Hall 07894589549.
Please ensure that your application demonstrates how you meet the essential criteria against the person specification as listed in the job description.
