Summary
Search Consultancy are currently hiring for 6x Highways Operatives on behalf of a tier 1 highways contractor based in Norwich.
As the Highways Operative you will be instrumental in the successful delivery of kerbing, paving, drainage and patching works within the Norwich and Norfolk region.
Other responsibilities for this role of Highways Operative will include:
- Support the delivery of our programme of Highways works
- Work within a crew to undertake works orders in a planned fashion and to the highest quality
- Have a keen eye for detail and report Safety Observations
- Carry out pre-start checks on each machine you are operating (including hired-in plant)
- Work to your gangs targets and minimise costs to maximise profitability and offer any alternative methods of working
- Ensure all plant is safely and securely stored in the designated areas at the end of your shift
- Ensure all Health and Safety standards are being adhered too across all works alongside collaborating, promoting and developing Health, Safety and well being innovations
It is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Highways Operative will have relevant industry experience, however the essential requirements are;
- NRSWA card
- A valid UK full manual car driving licence - no more than 6 points
