What’s the purpose of role:
To ensure the smooth running of the Equipment and Food Supply functions ensuring that ordering, packing, storage and issuing is managed effectively within the operation.
Who you’ll deal with:
Internal: Operations Manager, other unction managers, Team Managers, Shift Leaders, employees, other units, Central Services Team at Manchester
External: Airlines, HMC&E, DfT/CAA, auditors, contractors, EHO
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure all Equipment and Food Supply costs are achieved to target and plan and organise activities to meet schedule targets.
- Ensuring that all activities are planned and organised to meet scheduled targets utilising the identified best practice tools. plans and schedules will Include:
- Holidays
- Rosters
- Work/Packing Schedules
- Wash Backlog Schedule
- Equipment Issuing Schedule
- Stock Taking Matrices
- Forecasting anticipated resources through effective management of the ordering and delivery schedule utilising appropriate systems as required.
- Establish minimum and maximum Equipment levels by season.
- Manage perishable stock purchases in line with passenger figures and seasonal trends
- Ensure that Period End stock take activity is co-ordinated and to undertake briefings as required to ensure accuracy is maintained.
- Designing and reviewing the effectiveness of contingency plans when changes to Food and Equipment Supply are required.
- Identifying, quantifying and actioning implications of proposed changes to process or customer requirements.
- Agreeing and effectively reviewing action plans to ensure costs are controlled appropriately.
- Controlling substitution and wastage costs ensuring action plans are developed, to eliminate problems.
- Providing, analysing and reviewing information as required to ensure financial targets are met.
- Manage the performance of your team to achieve targets and seek further productivity improvements.
- Agreeing business objectives with team managers across all targets.
- Effectively reviewing process performance utilising available management information.
- Effectively reviewing the process management report on a daily basis considering, general overview of performance, issues affecting that performance, actions required to resolve issues & effective communication of the solutions.
- Attending daily operational meetings to agree action plans and communicate issues and resolutions.
- Undertaking a review of achievement of agreed business objectives as required by the Performance Management system to include undertaking an annual appraisal with each direct report & agreeing and reviewing action plans on a monthly basis.
- Ensuring that you communicate effectively utilising all elements of the Communication structure.
- Ensuring that recruitment meets current and future/potential needs.
- Monitoring and effectively reviewing team and individual performance on Daily, Weekly and Periodic basis as required, initiating, and reviewing appropriate action plans.
- Ensure compliance o Legislative, Customer and Company Standards.
- Introducing and maintaining Best Practice to ensure Equipment and Food Supply compliance.
- Ensuring the Daily Compliance Check is undertaken, reviewed and actioned as required.
- Monitoring performance and ensuring corrective action plans are introduced and reviewed as required.
- Initiating and communicating improvements when compliance is not met.
- Ensuring Due Diligence paperwork is completed and reviewed as required.
- Ensuring Security Checks are undertaken and actioned as required.
- Ensuring that training for team members is planned and organised to ensure compliance
- Ensure your team contribute positively to achieving an expected level of internal and external customer service.
- Maintaining regular contact with Customers, ensuring Equipment and Food Supply issues are identified and promptly rectified.
- Designing, monitoring and reviewing plans to implement changes to customer requirements.
- Providing expert knowledge for Customers on Equipment and Food Supply issues.

What you'll have:
- An in-depth of stock management covering chilled, frozen and ambient.
- People management skills, e.g. dealing with performance issues, grievances, holidays, and absence management
- Experience of working with SAP
- Ability to plan, organise and delegate
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Dealing with forecasts and within budget
- Computer literate, able to manipulate data
- Communication Skills - must be able to communicate at all levels
- An understanding of health and safety regulations in relation to operations
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
- Understanding of Operational Management Systems
- Must be methodical, and logical in their approach to work
- Ability to deliver process innovation and change management
