A vibrant secondary school in Brent is seeking a Graduate Unqualified Teacher of Art to join its expressive arts department.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident Art graduate who is ready to step into a teaching role and deliver lessons under supervision.
The Role:
As an Unqualified Teacher of Art, you will be:
• Delivering and supporting art lessons across KS3–KS4 (possibly KS5)
• Encouraging creativity, experimentation, and student-led design work
• Guiding pupils through coursework, practical projects, and critiques
• Managing classroom behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment
• Preparing materials and helping curate displays and exhibitions
• Assisting with extracurricular clubs, exhibitions and open evenings
This is a full-time position, giving you a genuine feel for the demands and rewards of teaching art in a secondary setting.
Ideal Candidate:
• Graduate in Fine Art, Illustration, Photography, Textiles, or Design (2:2 or above)
• Excellent artistic skills with a creative portfolio or background
• Confident in managing a classroom and sharing artistic techniques
• Passionate about education, visual communication, and inspiring young people
• Interested in pursuing an Art PGCE or training to teach
