An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month secondment as an acting Team Leader in the Chipping Norton District Nursing Team within the North Locality District Nursing Service.

To apply for this opportunity you will need to be at stage 3 of the Band 5 DN career progression framework. This post will give you the opportunity to learn new leadership and management skills and expand you knowledge of the district nursing service in a friendly and supportive team.

You'll be key in providing strong clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of expert evidence-based nursing care to patients whose needs are best met in the community, their own home or other care setting. 

If you're an experienced registered nurse with a strong background in district nursing and leadership skills, we would love to hear from you! 

A minimum of 30hrs per week over 4 days may be considered for the right candidate.

Cross locality working and flexibility is required for this role.

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required. 

Main duties of the job

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and management of the team
  • Accountable for the management, development, and supervision of identified staff within the community team
  • Overall accountability and responsibility for the named district nursing team
  • Clinical holistic assessment and treatment of complex patients
  • Work in partnership to reduce hospital admission and facilitate discharge
  • Promote optimal levels of independence and wellbeing for patients.
