The person is very football orientated and an avid Sunderland fan who loves to chat about this subject a lot.
His other interests are ten pin bowling, trains, loves travelling on the metro, football training, and fast-food places.
Due to the following: - Learning, ADHD and Autism disabilities, he will need help with general life skills, which he can do but needs more help to encourage getting on a bus, paying for things and going to new places to develop his confidence, independence as well as new interests. He can be challenging at times and can have bad melt downs sometimes over trivial things but to him it's major.Would suit someone who has plenty of experience in the above areas with the role being challenging. As well as good time keeping and reliability and not put off by these challenges.
Hours /WageHours per week are as follows: -Term time- 15 hours usually Thursdays & Fridays After 9:00 to 4:30pm at present.Non term time- 20 hours. This could be anytime Monday-Friday, 9:00 to 4:30pm or evenings as a guide.(These hours are shared with another worker and can vary and open for discussioni.e. 7.5hrs each or 10hrs each per week depending on the term time)September onwards these hours and days may be subject to change as we are waiting on the new college rota to be issued, so the required two days may not be as above but will still be over two days if the days have changed.
Wages are £13 per hour.
DutiesTake him on days out, maybe have a kick about with a football, encourage everyday life skills, interaction using bus pass and shops as well as getting him out and about in the community.
Additional Requirements/InformationHe is a good person at heart but patience is required, he can be demanding, finds it hard to understand at times.
Best suited for a person who has the experience in these areas of disabilities. The position is not essential to require a car or a driver, but it would be preferred. This is due to encouragement on public transport, but this would be preferred to be mixed in with someone who does drive. If required, the person may need to provide some of the care in their own home but is also open to discussion.
