Role Purpose
The Nursery Assistant supports qualified staff in the day-to-day care of children, helping to provide a warm and engaging environment where children feel secure, encouraged, and excited to explore and learn.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with supervising and engaging children in age-appropriate play and learning activities
Support daily routines including mealtimes, toileting, and naps
Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Set up and tidy away play spaces and materials
Observe and interact with children in a positive and caring way
Build warm relationships with children, staff, and parents
Follow nursery policies, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures
Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required
What We’re Looking For
A genuine love of working with young children
A patient, caring, and energetic personality
Willingness to learn and take guidance from senior staff
Good communication and teamwork skills
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Level 2 in Childcare
