Summary

SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 6 AM / Year 5 PM
Location: Barnet, NW11
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025
Daily Pay: £95-£110, depending on experience

A vibrant and inclusive junior school in Barnet is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This is a full-time position working across Year 6 in the mornings and Year 5 in the afternoons, supporting pupils with ASD and ADHD.

The school has a strong focus on nurturing each child's potential and delivering tailored support that empowers students both academically and socially. They are especially proud of their warm, community-driven ethos and well-established pastoral systems.

About the Role:
This position involves supporting:
- Two pupils in Year 6 during the morning sessions, both of whom have EHCPs for ASD and ADHD. They are bright and capable but benefit from a structured and supportive learning environment to help manage attention and engagement.
- Three pupils in Year 5 during the afternoons, presenting mild needs related to focus, sensory regulation, and social communication.

You'll work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to implement support strategies, track progress, and adapt approaches where needed. Candidates should demonstrate confidence in behaviour management, an understanding of neurodiverse needs, and a calm, empathetic approach.

Key Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with ASD and ADHD
- Excellent communication and emotional intelligence
- Strong classroom presence and ability to work independently
- A genuine interest in inclusion and additional needs

Commutable From: Hendon, Cricklewood, Mill Hill, Colindale, Golders Green, Edgware, Brent Cross, and surrounding areas.
