About the role: As a Key Worker you will support parents and young people (participants) to overcome their individual barriers and take positive next steps in achieving their goals. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local community support organisations, youth workers, local area co-ordinator teams and employers, to promote the programme and generate referrals to build your caseload.

The support you provide will be tailored to each participant based on their initial assessment and could include group interventions that you will facilitate in addition to one-to-one personalised activities. Where appropriate you may also be required to provide accredited learning and source work placements for your participants.

This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a passion for training and supporting those with multiple complex needs, and ability to adapt your training and support methods to meet the diverse needs of participants.

Required criteria:
• Proven experience in delivering soft skills and employability skills or similar programmes within an environment where all individuals have different learning needs and with a dynamic and creative approach.
• Experience of working with disadvantaged groups including care experienced and multi-needs individuals.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate participants needs and adapt training and support strategies to meet individual needs and change mindsets
• Ability to evaluate individual progress towards their goals, adjusting support strategies as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, negotiation skills, accomplished networking skills, organisational time management skills with the ability to build professional relationships effectively.
• Ability to positively challenge others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with participants from diverse backgrounds.
• Comfortable using instructional technology tools and resources to enhance and engage learners in digital learning environments.
• A commitment to continuous professional growth and staying updated on delivery methodologies, resources, and technology, including current trends, research and best practice for delivery.
• Values driven.
• Experience of working in a performance target driven environment.
• Driver with access to vehicle and business car insurance.


Desirable criteria:
• Training qualification such as Education & Training/CAVA or equivalent
• Sound knowledge of Awarding Body requirements and standards
• Experience of working in recruitment, publicly funded services, or other similar sectors
• Pre-existing network of partnerships in the local area; the ability to use qualitative mechanisms to deliver continuous improvement to service delivery; a pro-active 'can-do' attitude; a track record of driving positive change and the ability to work under own initiative and think outside the box.

Training and Delivery
• To conduct initial assessments to determine participant’s starting levels and identify next steps.

• Effectively manage varying sized groups of participants, being able to adapt to various learning styles, at different stages in the one group.
• Full responsibility of delivering innovative solutions, based on local priorities and contractual requirements.
Relationship Management
• Ensure all promotions of the services are delivered in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• To identify opportunities for next steps for each individual which may include, progression to other provision, work placement/job opportunities that match the caseload requirements and capabilities.
• Represent Triage at external meetings to keep abreast of provision opportunities.
