About Us
Appans Super Stores is a busy, community focused corner shop serving the local area with essential groceries, household goods, and specialist items. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a reliable and experienced Shop Manager to take the lead in daily operations and help us serve our customers even better.
Your Role
As Shop Manager, you'll be the key person keeping the shop running smoothly, supporting staff, and ensuring shelves are stocked and customers are happy.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support a small team of shop assistants
Handle deliveries, manage stock levels, and place orders as needed
Monitor cash handling, sales, and staff rotas
Keep track of fast-selling products and adjust stock accordingly
Ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times
Deal with customer queries and maintain a friendly shop environment
Suggest improvements like introducing popular items or store layout tweaks
✅ Ensure health & safety, licensing, and compliance standards are met
Operate services such as PayPoint, Lottery, and so on.
✅ What We’re Looking For
️ Minimum 2 years’ experience in a retail or convenience store setting
️ Strong communication and leadership skills
Confidence with basic IT and stock management systems
⏱️ Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays
Right to work in the UK (Skilled Worker sponsorship may be considered for suitable candidates)
