About the role as Media and Film Teacher:We are seeking a passionate and inspiring A-Level Media Teacher to join our team at the City of Oxford campus.The Media and Film Teacher position offers a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional or emerging teacher who is driven and dedicated to helping students realise their full potential and ignite their love for learning. The role is dynamic and varied, with each day presenting new challenges and opportunities. You will have the chance to teach a broad range of skills, including filming, editing, animation, visual effects, research methods, and more. With the growing prominence of the Screen Industries in Oxfordshire, this is an exciting time to become part of our team.This is a permanent, part-time role (0.4 FTE) based at City of Oxford College.What do you need to be successful as a Media an Film Teacher at Activate Learning?Successful applicants will hold a relevant professional qualification and/or degree in film production, media studies, or possess significant industry experience. We also welcome applications from unqualified teachers who have the ability to inspire learners, a strong willingness to develop their teaching skills, and a commitment to becoming qualified. We seek individuals who can serve as positive role models and embody the qualities of an inspirational lecturer. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential to delivering engaging and meaningful lessons to a diverse student body. Our goal is for students to graduate not only with professional qualifications but also with the skills and attributes needed to succeed in the workplace.Candidates should demonstrate a strong desire and ability to collaborate with the wider team to strengthen connections with local businesses and the community, fostering valuable work experience and project-based learning opportunities for students. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud is crucial, particularly practical experience with software such as Premiere Pro, Audition, and After Effects. Experience operating DSLR cameras and studio lighting is highly advantageous.
