We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Team within the busy Accident & Emergency Department.

The role will include taking blood, recording ECGs, applying plaster of Paris to limbs, supporting patients with care needs, assisting Doctors/Nurses with minor procedures, recording blood pressure, pulse temperature, and oxygen saturation, and ensuring the department is clean and tidy. Full Training will be provided.

The post involves shift work including night duty, weekends, and bank holidays. The role requires an ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, the ability to work within a multi-professional team, and an understanding of the needs of patients in health care.

· Perform venepuncture and cannulation after training.

· Perform ECG’s after training.

· Perform clinical observations and vital signs after training, escalating concerns appropriately.

· Apply Plaster of Paris after training.

· Assist with minor procedures, laying out trolleys, observing strict aseptic techniques, all after training.

· Have responsibility for ensuring equipment is stored safely and in working order.

· Perform basic dressings after training.

· Assist enabling patients to improve, maintain mobility.

· Assist in enabling patients to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance and enable patients to access and use toilet facilities.

· Assist in enabling patients to prepare for and receive adequate nutrition/fluids.

· Assist in the maintenance of stock levels as required and report items for repair as necessary.

Our patients are benefitting from ourWomen’s Health Hubin Ilford; anAgeing Well Centrein Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) atBarking Community Hospitaland atSt George’s Health and Wellbeing Hubin Hornchurch.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
