We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Ward Clerk/Receptionist to join our Same Day Emergency Care unit (SDEC) and Short Stay Unit (SSU) in the Urgent and Emergency Care division.
You must:
• Have the ability to manage an ever-changing fast paced workload.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be able to manage and prioritise your workload.
• Have customer care experience
• Have IT skills
• A willingness to learn
• Be able to commit to working long days and weekends
We will provide you with a complete induction and support continuing development through yearly appraisals.
If you have the drive to provide an excellent patient experience and an enthusiasm for personal and service development within a clinical setting we are waiting to hear from you.
To assist patients in their visit to ward/unit by providing a warm and friendly reception service, collecting accurate and appropriate data from them and providing advice and assistance to ensure a smooth visit for all patients who attend the ward.
To assist the nursing staff in the management of the patient's stay by carrying out the following:
• Initiating the Nursing Records system and preparation of the patient's identity band
• Preparing medical certificates for patients as required
• Arranging diagnostic tests
• The arranging of ambulance transport, as directed by the Nursing Staff
• Arranging follow up outpatient appointments on discharge from the ward/unit
