Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Specialist Physiotherapist to join the Adult Weight Management Service within Northumbria Healthcare Trust on a fixed term basis for 12 months. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about empowering people to achieve their activity goals and positively make changes to their lifestyle.
The service is a Tier 3 Specialist Weight Management Service including input from dietetics, psychology and exercise facilitators. The team delivers a MDT approach to patients who meet criteria for Tier 3 services. We are a service committed to compassionate client focussed care.
As part of the team, you will be able to contribute to service development, staff training and development, evaluation and audit. You will be supported to develop your skills and knowledge in this exciting specialism that is at the heart of key priorities for public health and the NHS.

To manage a caseload of patients, determining their requirements to increase daily activity to benefit their health; utilising patient specific goals.
Manage a complex caseload who will often have multiple needs including medical, psychological and social.
Assess a client's physical health in line with service protocols.
Undertake practice sensitive to the needs of clients, carers and relatives from a variety of backgrounds.
Deliver effective group education and exercise sessions to clients.
Deliver bespoke one to one sessions with clients as required for complex patients who cannot access group sessions.
Support and supervise the exercise facilitators within the service.
Contribute to the service development supported by the leads within the service, using current best practice, patient feedback and innovation.
It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.

• To assess, diagnose and treat an independent clinical caseload within the specialities
• To work as part of the physiotherapy team under the guidance and support of more experienced highly specialist senior physiotherapy staff.
• To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care
