Summary


The Mechanical Craftsperson is crucial in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems at St George’s Hospital. The role involves diagnosing faults, performing planned and reactive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to provide a safe and operational environment.

The Mechanical Craftsperson is responsible for mechanical PM and reactive jobs, performs maintenance tasks, and supports the operation of HVAC, water safety, and medical gas systems. The role includes using control systems, developing risk assessments, and providing technical support to contractors.

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor/Technician, the Mechanical Craftsperson is responsible for maintaining mechanical systems, including HVAC, water safety, and medical gas services including PSSR systems.

Key duties include performing fault diagnosis, planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting capital projects. The role also involves maintaining accurate records and providing technical support to staff and contractors.
