RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide high-quality, person-centred, strengths-based care and support to individuals in their own homes or within a supported living environment. You will assist service users with personal care, daily living tasks, offer emotional support and encourage community engagement while promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being. This role requires a commitment to upholding regulatory standards, including those set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and local authority safeguarding policies as well as adherence to company policies and procedures.
Personal Care & Support:
• To assist in the developing and continual review of Care and Support Plans in
conjunction with the Trusted Assessors/Key Workers.
• Assist service users with personal hygiene, dressing, and continence care.
• Support with mobility, including the use of mobility aids and equipment.
• Administer medication in line with policies and training.
• Support individuals with meal preparation, nutrition, and hydration.
• Support with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
Emotional & Social Support:
• Provide companionship and emotional support to service users.
• Encourage participation in social activities and community engagement.
• Assist in the development of life skills to promote independence.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
• Follow CQC guidelines and other relevant care regulations.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, Infection Control, and
Safeguarding procedures.
• Accurately record care and support provided using care and support plans and
reporting systems.
• Recognise and report any concerns regarding service users’ well-being.
• Meet your safeguarding obligations, reporting/acting in concerns in-line with
policies/procedures.
Professional Development & Teamwork:
• Work collaboratively with the team, healthcare professionals, families, and
multidisciplinary teams.
• Attend Mandatory training annually to include but not limited to Manual
Handling, First Aid /Medication Administration /Safeguarding Adults &
Children/Mental Capacity/Positive Behavioural Support/Trauma informed
Care/Oliver Mcgowan Tier 2
• Uphold the values and ethos of the organisation, ensuring a high standard of
care and support at all times.
Essential Requirements:
• Previous experience in care (desirable but not essential; full training provided).
• Care Certificate and an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care/Mental
Health or Learning Disabilities (or willingness to work towards an NVQ).
• A compassionate and empathetic approach to care and support.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A valid DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) (or willingness to undergo
one).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable for domiciliary care
roles).
We are looking to hear from Candidates who are car drivers/owners and want full-time contracted hours or can facilitate a minimum of 24 hours/week and offer flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Priority will be given to candidates who live locally.
