Summary
Equans is looking for a Night Security Officer to join our team in London School of Economics, Glengall Road; Southwark, SE15 6NF on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 42 hours a week. On offer is a salary of £30,331.58 and benefits package.
Shift Pattern:
Nights; 8pm-8am 4 on, 4 off
What will you deliver?
The Security Officer plays a key role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and security of all residents within the student accommodation. This role requires a strong focus on student support, concierge services, and frontline assistance to create a secure and welcoming environment. Security Officers will provide first-class customer service, acting as the first point of contact for students requiring advice, assistance or emergency response
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out specific duties relating to patrolling, guarding the premises, fire checks/inspections, access control and car park duties.
- To monitor and record all activities within the external environment by use of the Facilities CCTV System and to comply with the code of practice in respect of CCTV usage.
- To be thoroughly familiar with all emergency procedures and call out systems. To carry out all duties in a courteous manner and render assistance conducive with good security.
- To identify and report any hazards or infringements in compliance with the Company's Health & Safety Policy and to take immediate remedial action in the event of public safety hazards.
- General office admin cover as and when required during periods of Sickness/Absence and Holidays.
- To provide a reception service at the facility including answering telephone calls and directing them as appropriate, greeting and booking in and out of users and visitors to the facility.
Requirements
* Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding/Door Supervisor)
* CCTV Licence (necessary for the role but we can support the candidate in obtaining)
* First Aid Certification (preferred)
* Experience in security, concierge, or customer-facing roles within a student, residential, or hospitality setting
* Strong knowledge of public safety, security protocols, and emergency response procedures
* Proficiency in relevant computer applications and reporting tools
