Summary

We are seeking an Executive Director of Housing and Environment to work with the Chief Executive, other Executive Directors, and Elected Members to achieve the Council’s strategic direction and objectives. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused services within the County Borough and serve as the principal advisor to the Council on all matters within your portfolio. Your role will involve transforming and modernising the Council’s approaches to service provision while ensuring long-term sustainability.

You will set, model, and embed a culture that reflects the organisation’s values and behaviours, developing strong working relationships to overcome obstacles. Your leadership will support staff to deliver services that make a tangible difference to our customers.

As a member of the Corporate Management Team, you will work with external partners to deliver coordinated services that meet residents' needs. You will manage budgets proactively for the Directorate and the Net Revenue Budget is currently £122m. You will ensure compliance with governance processes and promote the Council’s interests externally. Representing the Council on various bodies, you will enhance its corporate identity and ensure the Council’s Transformation Programme achieves its objectives.
