Summary

We are looking for an experienced project delivery professional to support Children’s Social Care with the establishment of new residential schemes and facilities.

Working in the Children’s Social Care service, the successful candidate will drive the delivery of significant innovative projects consisting of capital delivery and technical social care elements forming part of the Children in Care and Care Leavers Accommodation Programme.

A temporary opportunity has arisen to work within the Children’s Social Care service on the delivery of its strategic projects. The Delivery Officer will lead on projects involving the establishment of residential children’s homes and other innovative inter-agency schemes, aimed at reducing demand and cost for care and improving outcomes for children in Cheshire West.

Typical duties include:

Controlling and managing specific projects, ensuring they are delivered on budget, to the required quality, and within the specified timeframe and financial savings
Liaising with external suppliers and providers to procure goods and services required to deliver new schemes and facilities, tracking spend against project budgets.
Liaising with Senior Managers and Programme Managers to ensure that any dependencies and impacts with other projects are clearly understood and any documentation and information requirements linked to projects are met.
Supporting in drafting formal and technical documentation to enable delivery of new schemes and facilities within Children’s Services (e.g. Ofsted documentation, planning applications).
Supporting the Senior Manager to plan, design, develop, support and monitor the application of technical and business standards, techniques and policies, and monitor performance in support of the objectives.
Producing regular progress summary and management information.
We are looking for a person who is motivated, able to multi-task and an excellent communicator, and who possesses experience of capital delivery and knowledge of Children’s Social Care.
