Summary
The 2022-25 DWP Digital Strategy "Our Digital Future" identified the Design System as a key product in delivering our goals. The DWP Design System helps to deliver consistent customer and colleague experiences faster and with less rework, by codifying design standards into reusable interface patterns.
You’ll be working alongside other user centred design professionals to understand the needs of users, communities and stakeholders to help identify and deliver standardised, best practice design to the DWP Design System to help other teams deliver faster.
We’re also looking for a Senior Interaction Designer with a high level of experience helping teams in Health and Disability Services design and deliver services that are simpler, faster and easier to use. Making sure everything we design is accessible to everyone. You’ll join a highly supportive community, sharing your expertise, and learning new skills from those around you.
As a Senior Interaction Designer on the Design System Team, you’ll:
- Demonstrate best practice in user centred design, for digital and non-digital interactions.
- Work effectively across multidisciplinary teams, adapting quickly to change.
- Champion accessibility and inclusion, considering the impact of new technologies.
- Collaborate with designers in other teams, give constructive feedback on other’s work and contribute to developing design patterns.
- Use research, analytics and best practice to understand user needs and identify opportunities.
- Create prototypes using appropriate tools and methodologies, advising others on prototyping best practice.
- Lead and coordinate design work, supporting other designers where necessary actively support the design community in DWP and across government.
