The Senior Delivery Manager – Improvement Community Programme at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for leading a team to develop and implement the Trust’s Improvement Community. This initiative supports the Trust’s strategy to deliver better, faster, and fairer healthcare for all. The role involves connecting improvers across the organization, developing staff capability to lead local improvements, and recognizing and celebrating bottom-up improvement efforts from staff.

The post holder will oversee programmes through their lifecycle, develop support mechanisms for staff, and work closely with CITI colleagues to promote and deliver CITI Academy’s offerings. They will also lead the development of digital platforms, provide data analytics support, and organize events to connect staff and celebrate improvements. Additionally, the role includes developing and implementing a branding and communication campaign to ensure staff understand the importance of improvement and know how to get support.

The post is funded by the GST Charity for a period of two years, and key results areas include;
• Oversee the implementation of the improvement community through its programme lifecycle i.e. project initiation, delivery, mobilisation and review
• Further develop and implement support mechanisms for staff to undertake local improvements. These will include:
1. Awareness sessions to raise awareness of organisational improvement priorities & themes, and how to contribute efforts to those
2. Facilitate forums to collaborate around cross-Trust challenges or opportunities
3. Deliver improvement clinics to provide easier access to expertise
4. Organise exciting events such as Awards Ceremonies, QI Week and ‘Dragons’ Den’ type events

The Delivery team is part of the Centre for Innovation, Transformation, and Improvement (CITI). CITI was founded in 2021 under the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE). The DCE is the Executive Director responsible for leading and implementing the Trust’s strategy for innovation and improvement, which aims to develop an ecosystem that encourages the acceleration of new knowledge and capabilities and learn from best practices globally, to deliver improvements in patient care, research and education at scale. CITI co-locates multi-faceted teams to provide the focal point for clinical innovators and services seeking to translate ideas or early stage products or improvements into clinical practice. The Centre aims both to incubate and deliver innovations and improvement ideas, projects and programmes, working alongside and for its clinical customers for the benefit of patients.


CITI builds on industry best practice in taking innovation from concept to practice. It aims to foster a culture of innovation and improvement throughout the Trust, and acts as the intellectual home of our core change methodologies.


CITI aims to improve the adoption of new clinical technologies with an agile operational model, delivering a data-driven approach to evaluating performance of novel technologies, creating a sustainable culture of innovation in clinical and operational workforce, and to build enduring partnerships with academia, industry, investors, our communities and other key Stakeholders.
