Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and visionary individual to contribute significantly to the development and delivery of our science programmes. This role will play a pivotal part in advancing our provision for developing and advancing laboratory skills to support teaching and learning of students.
Ideally you will have experience of working in a busy laboratory managing your workload and supporting students to undertake practical or research work at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Knowledge in any of the following disciplines: biochemistry, microbiology, food science, sensory science and analytical chemistry will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure that all equipment is appropriately cleaned and stored after use, any damaged or worn out equipment reported, recorded and repaired as required.
• Ensure regular safety checks of equipment and materials in all areas is performed and recorded in a satisfactory manner and maintain maintenance records as required.
• Use and prepare equipment and samples in response to job requests and standard operating procedures to ensure that work can take place on time.
• Maintain oversight of consumable materials ensuring that consumable materials are used cost-effectively are accessible to staff and students and are correctly disposed of as and when required.
