This is an integral role within the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), where the successful post holder will really make a difference.

The successful Change and Release Manager will report to and be supported by the Senior Release Manager and/or Senior Business Analyst. The purpose of the role is to successfully plan and schedule the test and deployment of releases. In addition to this, to deliver new functionality required by the business while protecting the integrity of existing services. The successful post holder will ensure that service asset and configuration items are properly controlled, and that accurate and reliable information about these assets is available when needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the creation and agreement of release and deployment management plans with customers and stakeholders both internal and external for all of Digital Services, using own initiative to resolve issues and problems.
  • Act as the escalation point for complicated issues or problems use own initiative and experience to find resolution and solutions
  • Oversee the building and testing of release artefacts that consist of related code and configuration items
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of processes and procedure to manage the release and deployment activity across DVSA services within the Digital Services function.
  • Management of interactions between teams to understand availability and capacity to deploy.
