Summary

My client is a Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor.

They are currently seeking a Design Coordinator to work on a major Civils & Rail Framework covering the Southwest of England.

The Lot stretches from London Paddington to Penzance and involves the ongoing maintenance & renewals programme of civil engineering assets such as embankments, cuttings, scour protection, and earthworks drainage.

As part of the year 2 plan they are currently looking to recruit a Design Coordinator to join the team operating out of the Bristol/Swindon Offices and be responsible for the day to day coordination and tracking of design activities and deliverables.

This role will be to assist the Design manager in compliance with the Design management and BIM plan and the Design Management Procedure.

Duties

  • Assist Design manager in updates to CDM plans.
  • Assist Design manager where needed to check for compliance with NR and BS guidance of designing for H+S
  • Assist DM in assessing work complete to inform period application for payment from design suppliers
  • Work with BIM / Doc control team to ensure project documentation is at correct project status and assisting BIM team where new information is incoming and needs uploading to CDE.
  • Review design documentation incoming for completeness with BIM requirement and respond to BIM queries from BIM team.
  • Chase down responses to TQs and other design queries.
  • Compile design packs for onward inclusion in construction contracts
  • Check compliance with client deliverable requirements and keep record/tracker updated

Person Specification

  • A recognised qualification within a relevant subject
  • Previous experience of working on major civils projects in a design capacity
  • Rail Experience (Desirable)
  • Understand the requirements of ISO 9001 with respect to design
