Summary

We are currently looking for a goods in operative to work for a well established client based in the Hayes area.

Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing for and receiving, accurate checking and tracking, counting and recording all
deliveries at goods-in. Liaising with internal colleagues to forward goods to the correct destination.

Shift times:
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (must be flexible to start earlier or finish later when needed)

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-Prepare the receiving area for daily inbound operations and assist in the unloading process and package sortation.
-Book in and record all goods via the electronic warehouse management system.
-Prepare daily up to date lists of the contents of each container and ensure that the correct paperwork is attached to the items if available.
-Print purchase orders, items and location labels for incoming goods.
-Accurately record and count all items received at goods in.
-Ensure that all items are correctly labeled and given to the correct person/department.
-Send back to relevant suppliers all returned samples.
-Operate machinery and equipment when required.
-Responsible for opening the gates promptly at 08.30am and locking at 17.00pm on a daily basis.
-Adhere to all company and client recycling policies and paying particular attention on minimizing company costs and wastage.
-Generate a stock take when required.
-Provide cover in various departments in the DDC (e.g., picking and packing, programmes and stock ordering) when needed.
-Align and assist with departmental KPI’s and targets for successful achievement.
-Facilitate clear, efficient, and respectful communication both internally and externally.
-Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety policy and ensure that the correct uniform is always worn.
-Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
-GCSE in mathematics and English desirable
-Specialized training in receiving goods and inventory methods and operations.
-PC proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
-1 – 3 years of warehouse/inventory control experience

Competencies/Skills
-Proficiency in inventory management and receiving operations, with an ability to accurately track and manage inbound goods.
-Strong organizational skills, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and maintaining detailed records.
-Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal departments and resolving discrepancies.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
-Ability to lift 30 lbs. Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime when needed. -Job requires operator to be on their feet for the entire shift
