This is an exciting role at the heart of the local authority. You will learn about how the local authority works, be engaged in high profile projects, and help ensure that residents and service users are central to decision making and change within the authority.
About the Role
You will develop and co-ordinate the Council's approach to public consultation and engagement. Your role will involve providing strategic advice, support and challenge to departments. You will also be involved in co-ordinating significant Council-wide public engagement and consultation projects.
About You
We are looking for an innovative, organised and values-driven officer to co-ordinate the Council's approach to public consultation and engagement. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Hold a degree or equivalent experience
- Have experience of leading projects
- Understand different engagement approaches including digital engagement
- Be aware of consultation principles and best standards
- Have good written and verbal presentation skills to prepare and present reports to senior managers
- Confidence in using a range of IT packages.
- Have strong motivation and organisation skills to manager a diverse workload.
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
