Job Specifics
Temporary contract- 25 Hour contract. Working on average 5 hours per day 9.30am-2.30pm, Monday to Friday to fit in with school hours. This is an all year round post with a minimum contract length of 12 months to cover maternity leave.

We operate a small and friendly nursery in Telford. The role will suit someone that's organised, enthusiastic and friendly. Our children's nursery is a lively setting with lots of creativity and has a team who are dedicated to the care of children.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Planning and preparing healthy balanced meals weekly.
• Catering for all children, inclusive of any special dietary requirements.
• Maintenance of adequate food supplies in appropriate storage conditions.
• Ordering of all food and maintaining monthly records for stocktaking purposes.
• Liaise with other nurseries regarding dinner numbers as and when required required.
• Ensure that the kitchen is kept, clean, tidy and that all appropriate measures are taken to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained.
• Preparation of meals and snacks for the children
• Work in collaboration with the food share project to promote Eco-friendly practices.
• Encouraging a well-balanced and healthy diet amongst children and staff.
• Prepare meals in advance to cover absences.
• Work with management to ensure health and safety practices are adhered and notify them of any problems that arise.
• Work towards healthy eating awards.
• Ordering catering and cleaning supplies to be delivered into nursery when required.
• General housekeeping including managing the nursery laundry and putting away stock.

The ideal applicant:

• Catering experience, preferably in a similar environment.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or willing to gain one.
• Knowledge of food preparation for special dietary needs
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
• Health & Safety knowledge.
