The Role

As part of our Property Services Team, you will provide electrical maintenance for NCHA’s tenants and external customers in line with NCHA’s vision of “More Homes, Great Services, Better Lives”.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role may include but are not limited to:

Organising and carrying out the design, installation, maintenance, testing and repair work of electrical systems for the Association’s managed properties, housing stock and external customers in accordance with agreed targets and procedures; ensuring services are compliant with relevant legislation and regulations.
Managing stock/supplies to ensure works are not delayed.
Completing and returning documentation within agreed timescales; updating and maintaining manual and computerised records relating to testing electrical installations etc.
Identifying customer needs and co-ordinating the services of other trades/working with colleagues, contractors and partners to ensure a seamless and excellent service to customers.
Understand your responsibilities under Health & Safety legislation; ensuring that all activities are discharged in a safe manner and risks are minimized at all times.
Provide relief cover for colleagues and participate in the standby/call-out rota to cover emergency breakdowns.

What we are looking for

We would like to hear from you if you are able deliver an innovative, efficient and flexible service that is customer focused, compliant and sustains high levels of excellence and quality.

This role requires you to have an NVQ level 3 in electrical installation, as well as an 18th edition wiring regulations, AM2, 2391-52 (or equivalent) inspection and testing (essential) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience. You must submit evidence of your qualifications during your interview.

You will need to demonstrate you meet the following criteria in your application and during your interview:

Extensive, demonstrable post qualification experience in the electrical trade.
Able to complete EICR's in domestic settings.
Extensive knowledge of single-phase systems and fault finding.
Demonstrable success in the delivery of a variable workload in a customer focused environment and working in a target driven service.
Understanding and experience of working to current Health and Safety requirements.
Demonstrable excellent communication skills.
Ability to use computerised data recording equipment.
Experience of bathroom and kitchen upgrades required.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to work independently and act on their own initiative, who can work in an efficient manner that delivers value for money, who can identify gaps in our service delivery and communicate them to line management, and ideally, someone who has knowledge of renewable energy.

A full UK driving license is required for this role.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm. Head Office is based in Clifton.
